Welcome to the cookie policy of brain-source.com/. This policy will help you understand what cookies and tracking technologies we use, how we use them and what your rights are in relation to it

Latest update: 27 May 2025

Brain Source International Corporation Limited, registered at 63-66 Hatton Gardens, Fifth Floor, Suite 23, London, England, EC1N 8LE (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (https://brain-source.com) to enhance your experience, analyze site usage, and for marketing purposes. This policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and your rights under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR (UK Data Protection Act), the ePrivacy Directive (PECR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). By using our site and consenting to cookies, you agree to our use of cookies as described below. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time (see “Managing and Disabling Cookies” below).

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website or service. They store information about your visit (e.g. preferences or session data) and help our site recognize your browser on return visits. Cookies can be first-party (set by our site) or third-party (set by other domains, such as Google or LinkedIn). They can also be session cookies (expire when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (expire after a set time). By law, we must inform you that cookies are used and explain their purposes, and generally obtain your active consent for all cookies except those strictly necessary for core site functionality.

Cookies We Use and How We Classify Them

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are essential to enable basic site functionality (such as security and network performance). For example, we use the Cloudflare WAF cookie _cfuvid, which is required to distinguish individual visitors and protect against malicious traffic. This cookie is considered strictly necessary for our site’s security and does not gather personal data for other purposes, and thus is set without asking for your consent. (Under PECR/GDPR, cookies needed for an online service you request – e.g. security, login, load-balancing – do not require consent.)
  • Analytics (Performance) Cookies. These cookies collect information about how visitors use our site (pages visited, time spent, errors encountered, etc.) in anonymized form to improve the website. We use Google Analytics cookies _ga and _ga_<container-id> (each lasting ~2 years) to distinguish unique visitors and persist session state. These cookies help us count visits and traffic sources, so we can improve Brain Source’s content and design. We also use Adobe Analytics via the cookie s7 to gather site usage data (see listing below). These analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, so we only set them if you consent.
  • Marketing/Advertising Cookies. These cookies track your activity across the web (on or off our site) to deliver ads relevant to you. For example, Google’s NID cookie (expires ~6 months) remembers your preferences (language, search settings) and is also used to personalize ads or during Google reCAPTCHA checks. Google’s DoubleClick IDE and id cookies (lasting 13 months in EEA/UK, up to 24 months elsewhere) are used to serve and measure ads on non-Google sites. (If you enable “Personalized Ads” in your Google Ad Settings, these cookies help show you tailored ads.) We may also use LinkedIn cookies for our marketing or social media features (see below). All marketing cookies require your opt-in consent.
  • Functional/Preference Cookies. These cookies remember choices you make (e.g. preferred language, cookie preferences). For instance, if you use our cookie settings, our consent tool may set a first-party cookie (often named CookieConsent or similar) to remember your choice. These cookies make the site more convenient but are not required for core functionality. We also include any cookies from embedded content.
  • Third-Party Cookies. We incorporate content and services from other providers, which may set their own cookies. For example:
    • Google Tag Manager (GTM): We use GTM to deploy scripts (Analytics, Ads, etc.). GTM itself does not set tracking cookies, but it can trigger Google tags (see above) and the _dc_gtm cookie (used by DoubleClick) for tag performance.
    • Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts for text styling. Google’s Fonts API is unauthenticated and does not set any cookies. (It only receives your IP address and browser agent to serve fonts, but does not use cookies.)
    • YouTube: If you play an embedded YouTube video on our site, Google (YouTube) may set cookies like PREF to store your video player preferences (autoplay, volume, etc.). (Google also sets VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE and others for video performance.) These cookies last several months and help improve your video experience. YouTube’s cookies are outside our control; consult Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
    • LinkedIn: We may include LinkedIn social plugins or ads. LinkedIn sets cookies such as lidc (domain *.linkedin.com) to optimize data center selection and network load balancing. (If we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag for ad analytics, it will also set these and related cookies.) These are persistent cookies (24 hours) and enable LinkedIn services.

Detailed Cookie List

Below are key cookies set by brain-source.com or its third-party services, their purposes, and durations. (This list may evolve over time.)

  • _cfuvid (Cloudflare – Security) – Identifies unique visitors behind a shared IP for Cloudflare’s rate limiting/WAF. Necessary for site protection. Expires at end of session.
  • _ga, _ga_<id> (Google Analytics – Performance) – Used to distinguish users and sessions for site analyticspolicies.google.com. Each cookie lasts about 2 years and is unique to our Google Analytics property.
  • _gid (Google Analytics) – Stores a session ID to distinguish users; typically lasts 24 hours. (If used, also covered by our analytics consent.)
  • s7 (Adobe Analytics – Performance) – Gathers data on site usage and user behavior as part of our Adobe Analytics implementation. Session cookie.
  • NID (Google – Advertising/Preferences) – Remembers your Google preferences (language, SafeSearch, etc.) and is also used to personalize ads or verify reCAPTCHA usage. Persistent ~6 months.
  • IDEid (Google DoubleClick – Advertising) – Used by Google to deliver ads and measure ad performance on non-Google sites. Lasts ~13 months (EEA/UK) or 24 months (US).
  • lidc (LinkedIn – Functional/Ads) – Used by LinkedIn for routing your connection to the best data center (load balancing) for their social/insight services. Expires in 24 hours.
  • _dc_gtm (Google Tag Manager – Marketing) – If present, it helps GTM coordinate doubleclick scripts (ads). Session cookie.
  • CookieConsent (Our Cookie Banner) – Our consent tool may set a first-party cookie to record your cookie consent preferences (e.g. version accepted). Expires typically after 1 year.

In addition, each third-party content provider (Google, LinkedIn, etc.) may set other cookies when you visit pages with their content. For example, YouTube’s PREF cookie (stores video prefs, expires ~8 months) and others related to ad personalization. We do not control these cookies’ details; please review the third party’s privacy notices for more information.

How We Use Consent

We use a consent management platform (CMP) that presents a cookie banner on first visit, asking you to Accept or customize your cookie choices. We do not set any non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing, etc.) until you have given clear, affirmative consent. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by returning to the cookie settings (via the banner or site footer) or by adjusting your browser’s cookie controls. We store and document your consent as required.

Even if you decline non-essential cookies, you can still use the site, though some features (like analytics or embedded videos) may be disabled. Per GDPR guidelines, we allow access to our services whether or not you consent to cookies, and we make withdrawing consent as easy as giving it.

Managing and Disabling Cookies

  • You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies; see aboutcookies.org or your browser’s help for instructions. Please note that blocking cookies may affect site functionality (e.g. logging in or viewing video content).
  • You can also adjust or revoke consent in our cookie banner or consent management interface on this site at any time. We will honor your choices promptly.
  • For Google cookies (Analytics, Ads, YouTube, etc.), you can visit Google’s Privacy Tools to manage or opt out of ad personalization. LinkedIn cookie preferences can be managed via your LinkedIn account settings.
  • Under California law, you may also use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) or “Do Not Sell” settings in your browser to signal your preference; however, we do not sell or share your personal data, so no sale opt-out is needed.

Your Privacy Rights

These include the right to withdraw consent at any time, the right to access or request deletion of your personal data, the right to correct inaccurate data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. These include the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used or shared, the right to request deletion of personal information we hold, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or any other purpose. Therefore, the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” request is not applicable to our practices. You have the right to non-discrimination for exercising any privacy rights. Under CPRA, you also have the right to correct any inaccurate personal information and to limit the use of sensitive personal data we may have collected. To exercise these rights or for more information, please contact us (see below) or visit the California Attorney General’s website.

Our Privacy Policy (separate from this Cookie Policy) provides further details on data use, security, and your rights.
